It sounds crazy, but it's true!  A midsummer night's soak pales in comparison to the experience of being in a hot tub in the midst of a winter's snow.  Surrounded by warm, soothing water while snowflakes fall around you; the stars shimmering brightly in the crisp night air.  An truly mesmerizing and unparalleled experience.  And, believe it or not, it's a healthy one as well!  Using a hot tub during the cold months promotes healing, and improves circulation, and provides relaxation.  Not convinced?  Check out the facts below:
  • Using a hot tub loosens stiff joints.  As temperatures plummet, the frigid air leads to stiff, achy joints.  Soaking in a hot tub gives them a chance to thaw.
  • It improves circulation and eases chronic pain, arthritis and fibromyalgia symptoms, which can flare up due to cold temps.  15 minutes in a hot tub causes the body's temperature to rise and as the extreme heat mixes with the cold air, relief from any symptoms will occur almost instantaneously.
  • It warms the soul.  The gray skies and cold temps can get monotonous after a while, and especially since wintertime means spending more time indoors, the daily grind looms larger.  Soaking in the hot tub is the perfect solution.  Not only does it provide an opportunity to get outside, but being enveloped by the hot water serves as a reminder that warmer days are just ahead.
  • It improves circulation.  Soaking in a hot tub is basically sitting in heat.  As your blood warms, it causes the vessels to dilate, which decreases blood pressure.  While you sit back and decompress your mind, your body is doing the same thing.  Who said multitasking had to be difficult!
  • It promotes detoxification.  Even though it's wintertime, sweating can still be inevitable occurrence in your hot tub experience.  And that is the body's primary way of eliminating toxins.  The impurities and toxins are flushed out through the skin as you sit in the warm water, rejuvenating you from the inside out.
Hope everyone stays safe and warm during winter storm Jonas, and if you have a hot tub, enjoy the benefits it has to offer!  After the storm and cheering on the Patriots, stop by and check out our extensive supply of hot tub care and maintenance items!  Go Pats!
